Abstract

This presentation focuses on my original collection of poetry that discusses themes of doubleness, transformation, and growth. Alongside this collection is an analytical component that discusses works of important American female Confessional poets Emily Dickinson, H.D., Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, and Adrienne Rich. Reflecting on the poems and works I read from these poets, I was able to trace and discuss their influence on my own writing and establish my original collection as a continuation of the confessional female poetry tradition.
