Abstract
Studies have shown that maternal isolation can increase anxiety and impact social behavior in rats and humans in later adolescence. Most animal studies keep the siblings together during the isolation period, but humans in NICU or foster care are isolated without siblings. This study explored whether having siblings present would alter these results and may challenge or strengthen previous findings.
